West Ham Online Remembrance Thread
Mods, can you make this a sticky?

With the sad news of the latest WHOer to pass, Irish Hammer, I thought a thread to remember some of the posters that have sadly past on over the years would be a good idea.

It's strange how you build a connection to people, even though, in most cases, you've never met them.

So here's to Irish Hammer, Gavros, Stomper, Eddie B, Pig Destroyer, Hammerhermit, Paul in Philly

Let's raise a glass to all other beloved members of the WHO family we've lost. Raise a glass this Christmas and post a comment below when a favourite memory of theirs comes to mind.

No politics. No in fighting. No thread derailing.
As Pub Bigot has stated in his OP No politics. No in fighting. No thread derailing. This is another thread where it's contents should be just that, remembering those that have passed. some threads have already been deleted

Paul in Philly hit me, if you ride motorcycles you’ll understand.

Re: West Ham Online Remembrance Thread
I remember him, Joe. I was seeing an ex from Philly at the time I think we conversed about Philadelphia quite a bit.

If I remember rightly, he moved to Nashville.

Before you rushed into starting this you should have got all the names first fella, now there is some missing. Not great.

Re: West Ham Online Remembrance Thread
I'm afraid I have to disagree, Manuel. It's for others to post memories of who they remember fondly and who have sadly past on.

Re: West Ham Online Remembrance Thread
Fine, agree to disagree, but all names of late WHOer's should be included in the OP, not lost in the thread somewhere, but you rushed into it didn't you..

Re: West Ham Online Remembrance Thread
Name them and ask them to be added to the OP.

Pub Bigot I'll add the names when they're listed to the OP and hopefully other mods will do the same

Has anyone seen of heard from plw as I seem to remember he was under the weather, argumentative sod but a good heart?

Good thread this - cheers!

Haven’t heard from some in a while. Debs, I know is fine - she’s just mugged it off. But then there are good posters like Baggins, Armchair (remember Cameltoe?), the great Alfie and Smasher, to name but a few, who seem to have gone AWOL. Hope they are alright.

Gavros passing hit me hard as he was helping me with some Hammers United stuff in the weeks leading up to his death.

Was a terrific chap who went out of his way for others.

Yes mate, the Gavros situation was awful - a genuinely nice fella
A bloke who appeared to have everything in front, suddenly no more from fighting his demons

The renders, boat and EU threads were a thing of beauty, I miss his input

Good thread. Well done.

Some of the names you mentioned I'd not realised had died. Seeing their names has brought back some memories.

RIP all.

Pringle is fine Swindon he's still waiting for the film about when he came on for West Ham V Oxford City to start !!!

One story regarding HammerHermit .....He owned a shop in Byron Bay selling a mixture of Australian goods including Didgeridoo's....My daughter went into his shop and he was there ...Can I help you miss ? Yes my dad is Ted Fenton and he sends his love !!! he was absolutely gobsmacked and gave her a hug and corked leather hat for me that's about 5 times to big.....Lovely man.

ted - I can't remember how or why but myself and Mike clicked and got on well and we shared a few WHOmails , seems like a long time ago now. Was very sad that he went too early. I think most on here have forgotten about him.

Hi Manuel,

Yes a lovely man he sometimes phoned me and had an amazing deep voice ! as I said before he was a 6'5" gentle giant.
When I was in OZ I wanted to fly up and see him but he said he didn't want me to see him in such poor health.
Banjo has been in his shop and had a couple of nice pics together.

All the best Manuel

Re: West Ham Online Remembrance Thread
PB good thread! I just remembered Stomper, never met, but had some good conversations on here. Was so upbeat considering how his health was suffering. Came across as a real gent.

There was another poster Medwayhammer I think who was ill hasn't posted for a while. Apologies if mixed up with someone else?
